Are you new to Childspace or looking to share your special skills? The Parent Handbook probably has the answer. Do you have questions about visiting your child’s classroom, whether to bring toys to school, or about field trips? It’s all in the handbook. If you can’t find the answer there, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher or the center’s Director.
Willing to Give Childspace the Benefit of Your Perspective, Time or Special Skills?
Please consider joining the Parent Advisory Committee. This committee has a parent representative from each classroom—but membership is not limited to one parent. We encourage all interested parents to participate.
The Parent Advisory committee plans special events and fund-raisers, as well as acting as a liaison between parents, the director, and the non-profit board.
Parents are invited to accompany us on field trips. Please let us know if you have a special interest or talent that you would like to share with the children and staff, either on a field trip or during circle time in the classroom.
Finally, please consider joining the Childspace nonprofit Board of Directors, which is tasked with supporting Childspace in its on-going efforts to meet the highest standards of quality care.
Positive Parenting: A supportive, group where parents explore skills that have been shown to reduce conflict and increase ease.
The Childspace Centers have been selected to offer our parents a Positive Parenting Program. This includes evening meetings on topics such as Discipline, Bedtime Routines, Shopping without Stress. Each of these evening meetings is about 2 hrs, and includes dinner and childcare. There are also popular groups that meet once a week for eight weeks where parents are supported in practicing the important skills taught in the Positive Parenting Program meetings. All Positive Parenting sessions are announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Alternatively, feel free to ask your director for a schedule of the Positive Parenting meetings at your center.
